What we collect

FlatLaws collects only what's required to operate the directory:

• Provider data (lawyers, paralegals, firms): name, contact details, professional credentials, photos, service listings, prices.
• Consumer data (visitors who use intake/contact): email, optional name and phone, and the structured answers from the intake questionnaire. We store this only as long as needed to route the request.
• Analytics: cookieless aggregated traffic stats via Plausible (no personal identifiers, no cross-site tracking).

How we use it

To operate the directory, match consumers with providers, send transactional emails (verification codes, claim links, takedown confirmations), and improve the service. We do not sell personal information.

Provider listings — special note

Provider listings on FlatLaws were initially migrated from legacy public data (the original FlatLaws platform, founded 2018). Every provider has the right to claim, edit, or remove their listing at any time via the link in their outreach email or by contacting sean@flatlaws.com.

Your rights

You can request a copy, correction, or deletion of any personal information we hold. Email sean@flatlaws.com; we respond within 7 business days.

Cookies + sessions

We use first-party, HTTP-only cookies for admin/provider sessions. No tracking cookies.
