1. About FlatLaws

FlatLaws.com (operated by the FlatLaws owner) is a Canadian directory of flat-fee legal services. We publish listings and aggregated pricing data; we do not provide legal advice or representation.

2. Provider listings

Provider profiles are migrated from FlatLaws v1 and (after launch) created by providers themselves. Providers can claim, edit, or remove their listings at any time via the claim/remove flow. Stale listings (no updates in 18 months) are automatically de-indexed.

3. Pricing transparency

We require every active listing to publish at least a price range. Providers may mark services as "quote on request" but must still document inclusions and a starting price. Prices are CAD unless otherwise specified.

4. No legal advice

Information on FlatLaws — including pricing benchmarks, the Pricing Index, and any editorial content — is for informational purposes only and is not legal advice. To obtain advice, contact a verified provider through their profile.

5. Trust signals

Verification badges ("Verified", "Trusted", "Certified") are awarded through deterministic verification events. Badges cannot be purchased or otherwise influenced by payment.

6. Pricing Index license

The FlatLaws Canadian Flat-Fee Legal Services Pricing Index is published under CC-BY 4.0. Cite as:"FlatLaws Canadian Legal Services Pricing Index, 2026".

7. Liability

We rely on providers to keep their listings accurate. If a price, contact detail, or service description on a profile is wrong, the provider — not FlatLaws — is responsible. We will act on takedown requests within 1 business hour.

8. Changes

These terms may change. Material changes will be announced via the dashboard for provider accounts and via a banner on the homepage for at least 14 days.
